Online Teaching Working Group
The Online Teaching Working Group (OTWG) is a group of instructors teaching online
courses for the first time. Through the OTWG, participants will build a community
of peers, receive professional development from campus experts, improve their knowledge
and use of effective online teaching strategies, and get hands-on experience with
the LMS and the online classroom developed by IDD. We seek to shift instructor perspectives
on what online learning means.
Throughout participation in the OTWG, you will learn to:
- Apply best practices in online pedagogy to your teaching.
- Enhance your confidence with online pedagogy.
- Increase your confidence with the IDD online classroom template.
- Leverage the benefits of online learning to enhance your online classes.
- Construct module-level learning objectives that align with course content.
Who Can participate?
Anyone who is teaching their first online course in either fall 2024 or spring 2025 semesters can join! Full-and part-time faculty, staff, and graduate students are welcome, though you must be teaching an online course at Â鶹´«Ã½. Space is limited and participants are selected on a first come, first served basis.
what do i have to do?
You are asked to attend all meetings, actively engage with peers, incorporate your
learning into your course design and classroom practices, and participate in ongoing
program evaluation.
Meetings are hybrid, held in the CETL Hybrid Classroom (Michener L12) and online.
Calendar invites with location and a link will be provided before the first meeting.
