Decolonizing Knowledges

Learning Community

You have probably heard the word 鈥渄ecolonization鈥 related to education, but you might not fully understand what it means. Maybe you know what it means but have no idea how to integrate it into your practice as an academic. Or maybe you practice decolonization and want to share your experiences and knowledge with others. Join our newest learning community, Decolonizing Knowledges, a professional development opportunity for all experience levels. Learn, practice, and grow around decolonization with a facilitated group of your peers.  

Who Can participate?

Anyone who teaches at 麻豆传媒, either in a degree program, co-curricular program, or other environment. If you develop and deliver a learning experience at 麻豆传媒, this learning community is for you! Full- and part-time faculty, staff, and graduate students are welcome. Space is limited and participants are selected on a first come basis. 

what do i have to do?

Participants are asked to attend all meetings, actively engage with peers, complete short activities prior to each session, incorporate learning into classroom practice, and participate in ongoing program evaluation.

Fall meetings are virtual, and a Zoom link will be provided later. Meetings will be held monthly on Fridays from 9:30 - 10:30 am on the following dates:

    • August 30
    • September 27
    • October 25
    • November 22
what will i get?

Joining the learning community is beneficial is many ways. By joining you will:

  • learn strategies to improve student learning and enhance your pedagogy

  • get support from your facilitator and ongoing support from CETL after completion
