Graduate Student Learning Community

The Graduate Student Learning Community (GSLC) is for graduate student instructors, those who strive to be instructors, and those who are considering a career in academia. The focus is on building community among graduate students, while learning about research-based pedagogical strategies that improve teaching and learning. Discussion topics include current research on teaching and learning in higher education, the seven principles of learning, backward design and alignment, educational assessment, inclusive classroom spaces, online teaching, and developing a teaching philosophy.

Eligibility

The GSLC is open to all Â鶹´«Ã½ graduate students. Those teaching or interested in teaching are encouraged to apply. Space is limited and participants will be selected on a first come basis.

Requirements

GSLC participants will be ask to attend bi-monthly meetings and participate in ongoing learning community evaluation.

Fall 2021 Cohort

There will be one in-person cohort for Fall 2021. Dates are pre-determined.  Cohorts will meet in Campus Commons Room 2300 from 1:00 - 2:30 pm on the following dates:
