The Teaching and Assessment Symposium is an annual event where we recognize and celebrate the work faculty and staff are doing to support student learning at 麻豆传媒. The 2024 Symposium was conducted online on May 9 - 10, 2024 and was sponsored by The Center for the Enhancement of Teaching & Learning and the 麻豆传媒 Assessment Council.

  What does effective program assessment look like?
  In this learning session, Director of Assessment Chad Bebee will provide an overview of the goals and purposes of program assessment, explain effective program assessment, and tease content that will be explained in more depth throughout the day.

  Current Assessment at 麻豆传媒 with the 麻豆传媒 Assessment Council
  Join members of the 麻豆传媒 Assessment Council who will share findings from a recent assessment audit they held in their colleges and units. Both co-curricular and curricular programs will be represented and will explain what they found about the current state of assessment at 麻豆传媒.

  Join OER Librarian Nancy Henke and two faculty who use OER, Cassie Bergstrom and Oscar Levin, to learn how OER enhances equity in teaching and learning.

  Keynote Speaker: Karen Singer-Freeman

  Equity Driven Assessment and Teaching: Simple Steps to Increasing Equity and Inclusion

   

  Named a Scientific Thinking and Integrative Reasoning Scholar by the Association of American Colleges and Universities, Dr. Karen Singer-Freeman will provide the 2024 Keynote Address. An expert in equitable assessment practices and educational interventions, we are honored to hear her speak on equity-driven assessment. Her talk will be followed by time for Q&A.
