Scholarships

The English Department offers three scholarships to students. For more information about scholarships at 麻豆传媒, visit the Office of Financial Aid.

  • Frosty and Cynthia Frease English Scholarship

    Forrest (鈥淔rosty鈥) Frease was a faculty member in the Department of English at 麻豆传媒 from 1949 to 1980. After his retirement, Frosty and his wife Cynthia established these scholarship to provide support for an outstanding junior English major during his or her senior year. The student must be full-time. Students are chosen according to their academic promise and ability that they demonstrate in their English courses.

    In order to be considered for the scholarship, students must complete the 麻豆传媒 Universal Scholarship Application by March 1 of each year.

    Students do not need to demonstrate financial hardship or complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students do not need to write long essays in order to be considered; a short statement responding to the essay question will suffice. Though the amount of the scholarship varies, at minimum it is at least $500.

  • Frease/Colwell Honors Program English Award

    Forrest (鈥淔rosty鈥) Frease was a faculty member in the Department of English at 麻豆传媒 from 1949 to 1980. After his retirement, Frosty and his wife Cynthia established the Frease/Colwell Honors Program Award to recognize an outstanding senior English major. Students are chosen according to their academic promise and ability that they demonstrate in their English courses. Preference is given to students who are also enrolled in the Honors Program.

    In order to be considered for the scholarship, students must complete the 麻豆传媒 Universal Scholarship Application by March 1 of each year.
