MAT Elementary Education with Initial Licensure

Do you want to be an elementary teacher and have you accomplished your Bachelor’s Degree? Â鶹´«Ã½ has an expedited program in which you will earn your licensure and your Master of Arts in Teaching in 15 months. The Master’s of Arts in Teaching: Elementary Education Licensure Program.

Program Description

This is a 45 credit program for graduate students who have a bachelor's degree in any area. This program is offered through Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s Extended Campus.

Courses have a strong practical experience base, providing prospective teacher with opportunities to learn theory and obtain practice in the various subject areas that comprise the elementary-school curriculum.The field experience portion of the program includes: reading diagnosis in a tutoring setting, a practicum field experience in an elementary classroom, and a student teaching experience in an elementary classroom.

Upon completing the licensure portion of the program successful candidates will complete the Master of Arts in Teaching: Elementary Education (included in the 45 credits). Depending on a student's background, some liberal arts courses may need to be completed prior to applying for licensure.

Locations

The Master’s of Arts in Teaching: Elementary Education Licensure Program has cohorts in:

  • Loveland + Online
  • Denver + Online

A cohort is a group of students who participate together throughout the program.

Timing

The program begins at the summer semester and concludes the following summer. Students complete the program with an elementary teaching license and Master’s Degree.
