Make an Appointment

To schedule an in-person or virtual appointment with a Career Counselor follow these simple instructions:

  1. Log into
  2. Click on "Career Center" (upper right of screen) 
  3. Scroll down and click on "Appointments"
  4. Follow the prompts to provide details about what you are needing support with
  5. Choose your appointment medium

If you do not see a time that works for you, please email career.readiness@unco.edu.  Appointments can be modified or rescheduled through your Handshake account.

We offer a wide range of services to students, including assistance with:


Types of Appointments

  • Drop-In Hours

    Drop-ins work well for students and recent alumni seeking to spend 10 - 15 minutes with a Career Cousenlor.  Students and recent alumni seeking drop-ins will be served on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

  • Individual Appointments

    Individual appointments with a Career Counselor are approximately 30 minutes and provide you with the opportunity to receive personalized assistance with your major and or/career related goals. Please note:

    • We tend to book out 2-3 weeks in advance so make sure to schedule your appointment accordingly.
    • If you are more than 5 minutes late to your individual appointment, you will be asked to reschedule that appointment.
  • Long Distance Appointments and Emails

    We provide long distance appointments via Handshake.

  • What to Expect of Your Career Counseling Appointment

    Our staff is passionate about working with, and supporting 麻豆传媒 students in determining and implementing their career related goals.

    What to expect of your career counseling appointment:

    • Appointments are approximately 30-50 minutes, if needed, Drop-ins are approximately 15 minutes.
    • Our services are free for students and alumni that have graduated within 3 years, except for some career assessments that may require a fee.
    • We expect you to be actively involved in this process, therefore, please come prepared to talk with your counselor and be open to questions, feedback, and suggestions.
    • Your career counselor may distribute handouts for supplemental guidance and provide tools and resources for you to use outside of your appointment.
    • Your career counselor may determine and will likely suggest other places on campus or in the community that may be helpful for you to access.
    • Your career counselor may suggest follow-up appointments if needed.
    • There is no official limit to sessions with a career counselor; however, only assistance on career related goals is provided. If your counselor determines that our services no longer meet your needs, you will be referred to additional services and resources on campus and/or in the community.

    What your career counseling appointment is NOT:

    • The career counselor will NOT tell you what job/major is best for you; they will give you more information and resources to help you decide on your own.
    • The career counselor is NOT able to advise you on your course selections or a four-year course plan.
    • The career counselor will NOT write or edit for grammar, spelling, etc. career/educational related documents for you (e.g. resumes, cover letters, letters of intent); they will provide a review of your materials as well as tools and resources for you to complete these documents on your own.
    • The career counselor will NOT find you a job or internship; they will provide you with job and internship searching techniques and resources.

    Privacy

    • Privacy will be respected, but confidentiality does not apply.
    • The University of Northern Colorado prohibits and will not tolerate sexual misconduct or gender-based discrimination of any kind. 麻豆传媒 is legally obligated to investigate sexual misconduct (including, but not limited to: sexual assault, sexual harassment, stalking and intimate partner violence). If you disclose an incident of sexual misconduct to a staff member, they have an obligation to report it to 麻豆传媒鈥檚 Title IX Coordinator. 鈥淒isclosure鈥 may include communication in-person, via email/phone/text message, or through in/out of class assignments.
