Â鶹´«Ã½ to Waive Application Fees on Colorado Free Application Day

The University of Northern Colorado is waiving application fees for undergraduate applicants submitted by Colorado residents on Tuesday, Oct. 15, as part of the second annual .
Colorado Free Application Day encourages high-school seniors to successfully apply to a higher-education program and file their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). All 32 public universities and several private colleges in Colorado are taking part in this year’s Free App Day.
According to the State of Colorado’s Department of Higher Education, Colorado’s changing economy demands more education and training. Studies show that by next year, nearly three in four jobs in Colorado will require a certificate or degree.
Interested Colorado students must submit a completed admissions application between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 a.m. on Oct. 15 only. Please read Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s fee waiver process below:
- Common Application: Within Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s Member Questions section, answer these two questions like this:
- Do you intend to use one of these school-specific fee waivers? Answer: Yes
- Please provide your University of Northern Colorado fee waiver code here. Answer: freeappday
- Bear App: There is nothing you need to do. Simply submit the application on Oct. 15, 2019, and the fee will automatically be waived for Colorado residents.
Snapshot of Last Year's Free App Day
- The first-ever Colorado Free App Day occurred on Oct. 30, 2018, with 22,294 total applications submitted from Colorado residents
- All public colleges and universities and several private institutions in the state waived application fees that day
- Of those who applied on Free App Day, 87% attended high school, and almost 7% were transfer students
- Students of color submitted nearly half of the total applications (10,700)
- Nearly a third were submitted by first-generation students (7,440)
- First-time freshmen students submitted the bulk of the applications at 84%
- Â鶹´«Ã½ received 3,905 applications, the third-highest number of applications behind Colorado State University (5,550) and University of Colorado, Boulder (4,791)
