麻豆传媒 Names New Natural and Health Sciences Dean

The University of Northern Colorado announced that Kamel Haddad, Ph.D., will become the next dean of the College of Natural and Health Sciences (NHS).

Currently, Haddad is a professor of Mathematics at California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) with a special assignment as consultant for student success initiatives in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. At CSUSM, Haddad served as vice provost and interim provost from 2014 to 2020.

During his five-year tenure as vice provost, Haddad facilitated the advent of engineering programs to CSUSM, led the and implemented enrollment and funding models driven by student demand. His work on identifying and removing operational barriers to student success contributed to the university鈥檚 freshman- and transfer-graduation rates reaching record highs.

Prior to CSUSM, Haddad served as associate dean in the School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Engineering at California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB). Haddad is a senior Fulbright Scholar and recipient of CSUB鈥檚 Millie Ablin Outstanding Professor Award.

Anderson, provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs at 麻豆传媒. 鈥淗is leadership philosophy and core belief that students come first will further strengthen the personalized education grounded in the liberal arts that 麻豆传媒 is known for.鈥

He received his doctorate in Mathematics from the University of Maryland and his bachelor鈥檚 in Applied Mathematics from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is also fluent in French and Arabic.

Haddad will begin his new role at 麻豆传媒 on May 1, 2021.
