ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ to Host its Own Free App Day Along with Week-Long Bearnanza

November 18, 2020
The University of Northern Colorado has initiated its own Free App Days where anyone, anywhere in the world can apply as an undergraduate to ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ without paying the $50 application fee.
The first of ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½βs Free App Days will be on Tuesday, Dec. 1. Prospective students can apply through the Common App or through ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½βs Bear app.
There will also be a Virtual Application Workshop from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. (MST), Dec. 1, for interested prospective students to join for support:

βWe are excited to offer our own Free App Days because we see this as an opportunity
to continually serve our student population that includes a large percentage of first-generation
college students, especially this year due to the educational disruptions caused by
COVID-19," said Dave Fedorchak, Ed.D., director of Admissions at ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½.
Colorado Free App Day is an initiative started by the Colorado Department of Higher Education in 2018, in partnership with Colorado colleges and universities, to make it possible for more students to apply for college. While this event provides great access for in-state students, this year ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½βs Admissions team decided to extend the opportunity to out-of-state and international students, as well as for students who are completing their applications later in the year.
Also occurring on Dec. 1 is the first day of ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½βs week-long Bearnanza, an opportunity for ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ alumni and friends to donate to funds that support specific student success initiatives.
One of those initiatives is βSupport a Future Bearβ that allows donors to fund application waivers for future Bears who miss ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½βs Free App Day on Dec. 1. ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ and its alumni are committed to removing barriers to higher education before students even arrive on campus.
ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½βs 2021 Free App Days are happening on Feb. 1 and April 1, with the latter focusing on transfer student applications.
