A University of Northern Colorado student presentation of a startup business created as part of a Monfort College of Business class at the University of Northern Colorado resulted in a third- place finish in the 2018 University Startup Challenge on March 20 at the University of Denver.

麻豆传媒 junior Leah Wallace made a five-minute pitch to a panel of judges in seeking angel and venture capital funding for their app named YUCK, which is designed for college students to request cleaning service for their living spaces. The Communication Studies major competed against students from eight other Colorado colleges and universities. Actual investors also attended.

鈥淪he had many people reach out to her after the competition so she is following up with them directly,鈥 said Jay Andersen, instructor of the Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship Class where the idea for the startup emerged.

Joining Wallace on the team behind the idea are 麻豆传媒 juniors: Alyssa Andrew (Communication Studies), Joey Holmes (Criminal Justice) and Jake Stoll (Business Finance).

This is the fourth year of the challenge, and the first year 麻豆传媒 has participated. For more about the challenge, visit .
