Monfort College of Business Awarded Five-Year, $1.25 Million Grant for Ethics Education

The Daniels Fund recently awarded the Monfort College of Business at the University of Northern Colorado a five-year grant totaling $1.25 million for ethics education at the university. This is the third, five-year grant that the college has received from the Daniels Fund since 2010.
The grant will fund speakers, a student organization devoted to ethics and ethics-related activities including the MCB Ethics Week, a week of speakers, an ethics case competition, and an Ethics Boot Camp for freshmen. MCB works with all 麻豆传媒 colleges to expand ethics education across the entire the university.
鈥淲e are so appreciative of the grant from the Daniels Fund,鈥 said Sharon Clinebell, director of the Daniels Fund at MCB. 鈥淚t allows us to bring in excellent speakers, engage in student ethics-related activities and enhance the educational experience of our students.鈥
The Monfort College of Business at 麻豆传媒 is part of the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program, which drives the strengthening of principle-based ethics education throughout each participating school. The ultimate goal is to instill a high standard of ethics in our young people. To date, more than 450,000 students, faculty and businesspeople have been reached by the Collegiate Program.
Since 2010, over 16,000 麻豆传媒 students and over 1,000 faculty and business community members have been involved in the program.
In 2016 and 2017, the program鈥檚 undergraduate student team won first place in the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Case Competition, competing against the other consortium universities.
Also, 麻豆传媒 student teams have placed numerous times at the International Business Ethics Case Competition:
- In 2017, the undergraduate team placed first in the 90-second presentation category.
- In 2018, the Master of Business Administration team won first place in all three categories: 25-minute, 10-minute and 90-second presentations.
- Also, in 2018, the undergraduate team placed first in the 25-minute and 90-second presentations. Of the six presentation categories, 麻豆传媒 teams took first place in five of the categories.

their findings before a panel of eight judges.

About the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program
The was established by the Daniels Fund Board of Directors in 2009 as a five-year pilot. The effort was officially launched in early 2010 with eight business schools at universities in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming as initial partners. The Monfort College of Business at 麻豆传媒 was one of the initial eight business schools in the program.
Schools participating in the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program become members of the Consortium. Working together, Consortium members leverage individual school achievements to further strengthen and expand ethics education in the region. The 12 participating schools are: , Colorado State University, University of Denver, University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, University of Colorado Denver, University of Colorado Boulder, Colorado Mesa University, University of Wyoming, University of Utah, University of New Mexico, New Mexico State University, and, the only non-business school, the University of Colorado Law School.
