Three students from the University of Northern Colorado School of Sport and Exercise Science's Physical Education program were recognized for their achievements as students in the teaching field.
- Senior Brady Barker was recognized at the national convention in Tampa Bay as the SHAPE America Major of the Year. This award
celebrates outstanding undergraduate students in the fields of health, physical education,
recreation and dance.
- Senior John Reid was also celebrated at the SHAPE convention where he was awarded with the Mark L.
Harvey Legacy Future Professional Scholarship. This scholarship is provided by the
SHAPE Central District and is awarded to a college junior or senior studying in the
fields of health, physical education, recreation and/or dance (image above, from left to right: Barker and Reid).
- Sport Pedagogy graduate student Bre Snyder (photo at right) was as Â鶹´«Ã½'s Top Teacher Candidate by the Colorado Department of Higher Education. She was honored alongside other top teacher candidates from Educator Preparation Programs across the state.
"These students represent the K-12 Physical Education program and Â鶹´«Ã½ so well and we are so proud of all of their achievements! Congrats to you all - the K-12 Physical Education program sure has some outstanding students, and lots to celebrate," said Jaimie McMullen, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Sport and Exercise Science.
