After launching a national search in January, the University of Northern Colorado (麻豆传媒) is pleased to announce the hiring of Tamra English, J.D., as the university鈥檚 next general counsel and secretary to the Board of Trustees. She will begin her role at 麻豆传媒 on June 10.

English comes to 麻豆传媒 after spending over a decade with the University of Texas System (UT System) Office of General Counsel. Starting as an attorney with the office in 2012, she was quickly promoted through several roles, most recently serving as assistant vice chancellor and managing counsel. In her position, English led a team of attorneys and administrative professionals, providing legal advice and counsel to the UT System and its academic and health institutions. Prior to her career in public higher education, English spent 14 years as an attorney in private practice.

As general counsel and secretary to the board, English will lead the Office of General Counsel and provide in-house legal advising services to the university and the board.

English received her bachelor鈥檚 degree from Baylor University and her Juris Doctor degree from Baylor School of Law.

English succeeds Dan Satriana, who has been serving as interim general counsel and secretary to the board since June 2023 prior to retiring in 2021 after 12 years of service to 麻豆传媒.
