Three programs in 麻豆传媒鈥檚 College of Education and Behavioral Sciences successfully received national accreditation this spring.

  • School Psychology doctoral and internship programs: The American Psychological Association Commission on Accreditation conducted separate reviews of 麻豆传媒鈥檚 doctoral program and the High Plains Psychology Internship Consortium. The reviews included self-study reports, program responses, and accreditation team campus visits. In granting accreditation, the commission recognized the quality of training and compliance with accreditation standards in the doctoral program and the internship program, whose mission is to prepare and retain psychologists who provide behavioral health care to children, adolescents, and adults in rural school and clinical settings. The commission reaffirmed accreditation for the doctoral program through 2028 when the next site visit is scheduled. The internship program is accredited on contingency until Jan. 1, 2021, when outcomes for two cohorts that will have completed the program are due to achieve full accreditation status.
  • Special Education (Orientation and Mobility): The Orientation and Mobility program is in full compliance with the standards set forth by the Association of the Education and Rehabilitation of Individuals with Visual Impairments Accreditation Program; and has earned the distinction 鈥淎ccredited.鈥 This accreditation is effective June 1 and will expire May 31, 2024.
