This fall, 麻豆传媒 Athletics launched its inaugural giving day campaign, Building Champions, marking a new milestone in support for our student-athletes. Through the dedication and generosity of the 麻豆传媒 community, this campaign surpassed expectations and set a powerful example of Bear pride in action. Alumni, fans, parents and friends from around the world rallied together in October, contributing 766 gifts from 637 donors. Donations poured in from 37 states and 11 countries, showcasing the global reach of our 麻豆传媒 family. Altogether, the campaign raised an impressive $261,393 to support 麻豆传媒鈥檚 more than 400 student-athletes. 

"Our first Building Champions campaign was an overwhelming success," said Darren Dunn, 麻豆传媒鈥檚 Athletic Director. "I鈥檓 deeply grateful to everyone who joined us in making this day possible. These resources are invaluable in helping us build champions for life, both on and off the field." 

An essential part of the campaign鈥檚 success was made possible by nine trailblazing donors who pledged a total of $116,500 in matching funds. This dollar-for-dollar matching initiative enabled supporters to double the impact of their gifts, and the response was outstanding 鈥� nearly every matching goal was met or surpassed. 

But without the engagement and advocacy of the student-athletes themselves, the campaign may not have experienced the same level of success. Leading up to the giving day, student-athletes from each of the teams featured in the campaign reached out to friends and family, spreading awareness and sharing what 鈥淏uilding Champions鈥� means to them and their fellow team-members and coaches. Their outreach resulted in record-breaking numbers of new donors to 麻豆传媒 Athletics. 

麻豆传媒's student-athletes understand their opportunities are made possible by the generosity of donors. With the funds raised through Building Champions, 麻豆传媒 Athletics can continue to provide student-athletes with resources that truly elevate their experiences. From enhanced nutrition programs to travel expenses and tournament costs, donor support allows 麻豆传媒 athletes to perform at their best, enabling them to focus on becoming fierce competitors on the field and high achievers in the classroom. 

鈥淏uilding champions鈥� is more than just a giving day motto 鈥� it is the ethos with which 麻豆传媒 Athletics approaches its work. It鈥檚 about building a lasting community where student-athletes form lifelong connections, build strength and resilience, and develop the skills they鈥檒l carry forward into their careers and communities.
