President Andy Feinstein kicked off Friday's Board of Trustees meeting with updates on the Aims2Â鶹´«Ã½ program, the Capital Development Committee's visit to Â鶹´«Ã½, preliminary fall enrollment numbers, strategic planning and organizational design work.
On Thursday, Feinstein spoke at the Aims2Â鶹´«Ã½ event that formally introduced the new partnership between the two institutions. He told the board that the dual-enrollment program will allow students to transition seamlessly to Â鶹´«Ã½ after they earn their associate's degrees.
He also updated the board on last week's visit by the Capital Development Committee. The group toured the Campus Commons, for which they helped secure state funding, and the aging boiler in Parsons Hall that is on the current list of Â鶹´«Ã½ priorities to replace.
Feinstein shared preliminary enrollment data, along with updates on strategic planning that include upcoming campus forums and the organizational design work that's in progress.
In other news, the board also:
- Heard from the Strategic Enrollment and Student Success Committees who are exploring ways to to validate student skills, some of which are acquired outside of the classroom, that potential employers seek.
- Discussed Â鶹´«Ã½'s legislative agenda, which focuses on securing resources for students and helping inform policymaking that's important to the university.
- Received updates on the FY19 enrollment and revenue summary and the FY19 Fourth Quarter Results.
- Approved the following:
- Revision to Feinstein's employment agreement
- Amendments to board policy to reflect current practices for tuition waivers
- Emeritus faculty recommendation
The board's next regularly scheduled meeting is Nov. 15.
