    Â鶹´«Ã½ Hosts Student Teachers from South Korea

    Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s Office of Global Engagement is currently hosting a group of 12 student teachers and a chaperone, Professor Youngmi Choi, Ph.D., from the Seoul National University of Education (SNUE), South Korea.

    Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s Office of Global Engagement is currently hosting a group of 12 student teachers and a chaperone, Professor Youngmi Choi, Ph.D., from the Seoul National University of Education (SNUE), South Korea. This international program from now through Feb. 1, provides a comprehensive academic and cultural immersion experience where faculty and students exchange ideas, engage in global learning opportunities and help promote Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s internationalization efforts.

    During their time at Â鶹´«Ã½, the guest students are placed in classrooms at Dos Rios Elementary School in Evans to interact with local teachers and students, observe U.S. classroom teaching styles, learn about best practices in English as a Foreign Language teaching methodologies and intercultural communication. SNUE students also participate in cultural immersion activities throughout Greeley, Denver, and the state of Colorado. 

    On Jan. 22, Â鶹´«Ã½ held a joint recital with Lei Weng, D.M.A, Â鶹´«Ã½ professor of Piano, and Choi at the Campus Commons Performance Hall, that also featured several international students performing concert piano pieces. 

    SNUE and Â鶹´«Ã½ have enjoyed a long-standing partnership over the past 10 years. Â鶹´«Ã½ has hosted four SNUE teacher training cohorts and is honored to continue this strong collaboration.
