The University of Northern Colorado's Adopt-A-Spot Program started in 2008 with the goal of fostering civic engagement and campus pride. Since then, Â鶹´«Ã½ students, faculty and staff have participated by adopting areas of campus and performing litter control, assisting with spring planting and maintaining flower beds.
This year, Â鶹´«Ã½ campus community members are invited to continue this initiative by partnering with Â鶹´«Ã½ Facilities to assist in enhancing Â鶹´«Ã½'s campus landscape.
Graham Nugent, director of Athletic Events and Facilities at Â鶹´«Ã½, said, "It’s something that you can take so much pride in, watching the flowers grow and making the campus prettier. I like to see other parts of campus who adopt a spot but am looking forward to showing off our new look going into the spring."
As Â鶹´«Ã½ begins to take a fresh look at campus beautification projects this spring, the Adopt-A-Spot Program offers a chance for the Bear community to get dirty, build relationships and embrace campus in new ways.
