The Atlas of Colorado: A Teaching Resource, 2003 edition: includes 75 pages of maps and graphs created from data compiled by a variety of sources and covering both physical and human landscapes, 67 photographic images displaying scenes from throughout the state, and 2 tables of population and agricultural data. In addition, the authors have included a number of suggested classroom activities to enhance student learning experiences. Most recent updates: Oct. 2004.
The Atlas of Colorado is distributed via the World Wide Web in the Adobe Acrobat portable document format in order to ensure widespread access to this material. Since the 1999 edition, numerous additions have been made to the this edition of the Atlas. The Full Atlas file is 21 megabytes large, so be prepared for extended download time. Once you have completed the download, you will have a 194 page reference and activity book to use in accordance with your own classroom and instructional needs. You are free to print as many copies as you need, or you may choose to utilize the Atlas in electronic form.
The Atlas consists of five chapters. The Introduction chapter is included in the Full Atlas link above. File sizes are as follow: Full Atlas (22mb), Agriculture (10.5mb), Infrastructure (1.7mb), Physical (4.3mb), and Population (3.6mb). Click on the links above to view the Atlas/or a chapter in Adobe Acrobat format. Right-click and Save Target as (in Internet Explorer) on a link to save the Atlas/or chapter to your hard-drive. The full Atlas is properly bookmarked/indexed. Individual chapter downloads are not.
