With the semester coming to an end, 麻豆传媒鈥檚 department of communication and journalism held a campus to career event last week. 

Many students are currently looking for summer jobs and internships, and it can be a stressful time. The campus to career event aimed to relieve some of the stresses students face when applying for internships. 

Alumni, career readiness professionals and department staff helped students get ready for entering the workforce. 

Few students attended but those who did got the tools they needed to get that first job out of college. 

Tanner Robinson, work-based learning affairs coordinator, talked about what he hoped students understood after the event. 

鈥淲e鈥檙e teaching students strategies to search for internships,鈥� Robinson said. 鈥淎 brief overview for the center of career readiness and all of the resources we offer to students.鈥�

Each department held an internship information session, going over the internships available to students and how to make your resume stand out. 

David Bissell, a career counselor, explained he doesn鈥檛 want students to find internships intimidating but to embrace the challenge. 

鈥淥ftentimes it鈥檚 the case that college students will only think of certain things when someone says career or internship,鈥� Bissell said. 鈥淲e are here today to demystify.鈥� 

If you aren鈥檛 graduating soon, the Campus to Career event also plans to hold a Fall session. There is something for everyone.
